Agreement

By using Self-e-Tape (the "App") and selfetape.com (the "Website"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our services.

The Service

Self-e-Tape is a mobile application for actors to record self-tape auditions with an AI scene partner. The app provides script import, AI-powered line reading, video recording, audio and video post-production, and tape assembly and export.

Your Account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Self-e-Tape
• You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You're responsible for all activity under your account
• One account per person

Your Content

• You own your content. Scripts you import, recordings you make, and tapes you export are yours. We claim no ownership or rights over your creative work.
• Your content stays on your device. We do not upload, store, or access your scripts or recordings on our servers unless you explicitly choose to share them.
• You're responsible for your content. Make sure you have the right to use any scripts you import (e.g., from a casting director for audition purposes).

Subscriptions

• Free tier: Full access to all features. Exported tapes include a watermark after the first clean export.
• Pro ($9.99/month or $79.99/year): Unlimited clean exports without watermark.
• Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store. Apple's terms and refund policies apply.
• You can cancel anytime through your Apple ID settings.

The Residuals Program

• Earn 10% of each referred subscriber's monthly payment
• Earnings first offset your own subscription, then accumulate as cash
• Cash payouts available at $100 minimum balance
• We reserve the right to terminate participation for fraudulent activity (fake accounts, self-referrals, etc.)
• Referral rates for early adopters are locked for life; rates may change for future participants
• We may modify or discontinue the Residuals Program with 30 days' notice

AI Voices

• AI reader voices are provided by ElevenLabs
• Voices are synthetic and do not represent any real person
• AI-generated voice content should not be used to impersonate real individuals

Acceptable Use

Don't use Self-e-Tape to:

• Violate any laws
• Infringe on anyone's intellectual property
• Distribute content you don't have rights to
• Create fake accounts or manipulate the Residuals Program
• Attempt to access other users' data
• Reverse engineer or copy the app

Limitation of Liability

Self-e-Tape is provided "as is." We do our best to make it reliable, but:

• We're not responsible for lost recordings (please back up important tapes)
• We're not responsible for audition outcomes
• We're not liable for service interruptions
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Termination

We may terminate your account if you violate these terms. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
